Personal Care

Help with the personal, everyday things — offered with discretion, respect and genuine warmth. We take time to understand how you like things done and match you with carers you'll come to know and trust, so support with washing, dressing or continence care always feels calm, kind and unhurried — built around your routine, in the home you know best.

How we can help

  • Washing, bathing, showering, dressing and undressing
  • Support first thing — getting up, washing, grooming and breakfast
  • Support last thing — your bedtime routine and settling comfortably for the night
  • Continence care, including catheter and stoma care
  • Medication administration and assistance, including collection where needed
  • Mealtime support — preparing meals with you or for you
  • Arranging podiatry and hairdressing, at home or out
  • Getting to and from appointments

And whatever else would help — if there's something that would make life at home easier or more comfortable, just ask. Our care is built around you, so we'll always do our best to help however we can.

Keeping home running smoothly, too

Good personal care doesn't stop at the person — it extends to the home around them. Alongside your care, our friendly team is always glad to help keep things running smoothly: the everyday tasks that keep your home comfortable and just the way you like it.

That often includes staying on top of laundry and linen. Where continence is part of daily life, keeping bedding, towels and clothing fresh and ready makes a real difference to comfort and confidence — and it's something we can help with discreetly and routinely, as a natural part of care, so it's one less thing for you or your family to think about.

Medication and data you can trust

Medication is one of the most important parts of safe care, so we make sure we get it right. We use GP Connect — the NHS's secure record-sharing service — to keep each client's medication information accurate and drawn directly from their GP record, rather than relying on second-hand notes. Our carers receive dedicated medication training and are supported by senior staff, so this vital part of the day is managed safely and consistently.

Being trusted to access NHS records also means meeting the NHS's own standards for handling information. Elmes Homecare has met the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit standards and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office — so your family's information is kept secure, confidential and handled correctly.
